MAY MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

This year, our final guild meeting was
held in May.
In June, we will all be busy with
Quilts Kingston 2018!

Our evening began with a demonstration of our quilt stand, to refresh everyone’s memory, and to show our new members.

Then we all headed to the buffet table, to enjoy our wonderful meal, catered by the guild executive.
This was followed by dessert, provided by
the May and June social group. Our guest this month, Jan Kittle from
the Pickle Dish Quilt Shop and Studio
showed us some of her quilts, and then discussed using rulers for machine quilting on a domestic sewing machine.

This quilt was a sampler, demonstrating different motifs, quilted on a domestic machine, using the new quilting rulers. Community Quilts had a lovely display of finished quilts, ready to be donated to our community. Our Postcard group showed their creativity too! Our members were busy signing up for jobs at our upcoming quilt show.  We have 2 days of set-up scheduled, plus 1 day of take down, along with 3 full days of quilt show!
There were many announcements made about the show, as well as about activities scheduled beginning in September!

As always, we ended our meeting with some lovely
Show and Tell! The following quilt was machine quilted completely by using a “walking foot”, or even feed foot!

Thank you to our hard working executive and all of our members  for another successful season of quilting education and fun!

See everyone at
Quilts Kingston 2018
June 8, 9, & 10
at the Royal Kingston Curling Club
