Meeting Date: Wednesday 2 September
Location: Zoom meeting online!
Time: 6:45 for 7 p.m.
This will be an unusual year for our guild, as we will not be able to meet in person for the next while. Our executive have been hard at work to keep our guild going, during such an difficult time for our planet. The need for quilts is ongoing, so keep on stitching!
Our guest this month is Celeste Compion
of Meerkat Shweshwe
She will present “Bolt to Beautiful”
Since most of us are new to Zoom meetings, please watch your email for your invitation!
Our 2 moderators, will be there to help you if you have any problems.
We are all learning how to work safely with social distancing.
I hope everyone has been working on placemats! The Meals on Wheels program looks forward to our annual donation of placemats for the recipients of their program!
Block of the Month
We will start this season with a four part mystery project! It will be available on the website on September 3.
Our program coordinator, Lillian, has been busy, making bookings for more Zoom presentations for the next few months.
We are hoping to be able to have “socially distanced” workshops in the near future, as more locations become available. I think the words we have to keep in mind are “hope, patience, and caring”
Show and Tell
Since we will be unable to photograph the quilts shared by our guest and our members each month, please send a picture to the website with a short note to share what you have been working on. The email is found on the “Contact Us” tab.
Take care, and happy quilting!
Don’t forget to renew your membership!
Those who renew before August 31, have a chance to win their membership free for the year!
Please drop off your finished placemats!
Meals-on-wheels recipients look forward to having a bright placemat delivered with their meal, in October.
If you have been working on a project for Community Quilts, please drop it off –
same address as the placemats, sWe ent in an email to members this month.
Please send pictures of your finished quilts and other quilted items to the webmaster (contact us).
We hope to share our projects the week after each meeting!
This is a section of our website, where members can list items for sale. We ask that they be sewing/quilting in nature. Maybe you have some specialty rulers, or surplus fat quarters that you think another quilter would enjoy. Send your listing, along with a photo, if available to the Webmaster!
Many groups are struggling to stay connected during these unusual times, and we need all our members to help keep our guild active. Currently, having virtual meetings is the best solution, but we will get together as soon as it is safe for everyone.
