Hopefully we will be able to resume our activities in the fall. Time will tell.

General Meetings

All General Meetings are cancelled until further notice.

This means that the meeting for Wednesday May 4th is cancelled.

The meeting for Wednesday June 3rd is cancelled.

There will be no dinner in June.

Community Quilts

Community Quilts is now cancelled until further notice. If you need a quilt to quilt or bind, or pin baste, please send Annie an email. Remember we have a new home for Community Quilts when we get started up again. Thanks to Heather Dawson of Stitch by Stitch.

All workshops are cancelled until further notice – probably resume in the fall – the exact time is not known at this time – time will tell. Payments for cancelled workshops will be returned to those who have paid. Lillian and Sharon will be in touch by email to arrange return of cheques, return of payment possible destruction of cheques after each workshop is past.

Please continue to make the facemasks. If you can, please take a picture of the masks you make. Please send your pictures to Lynn Cairncross, Susan Torrens, and myself for the Newsletter and the Web Page. I hope to be able to send the mask pictures to the stores that we have associated with for their Newsletters.

Each year we have supported Meals on Wheels with our placemats. Please, if you can, make placemats for Meals on Wheels. If we each made one each month we could have over 500 to bring to our meeting in the fall. That may seem like a lot but that does about two days. There are about 200 – 250 meals delivered each day. They also run the Diners Club where they bring some seniors together for a lunch to help combat loneliness.

Quilts Kingston 2021

Quilts Kingston is in a holding pattern at this time due to Covid 19. When the restrictions are past and we return to normal, whatever the new normal will be, we will re-address the Quilt Show. In the meantime you could make something for the Quilt Show.

President’s Challenge

I ask that each member make something for our next Quilt Show – a table runner, a lap quilt, a full size quilt, a set of placemats, slippers, and so on. What you make is your choice. If you are unable to store it , please email me and between us we will arrange pick-up for it to go into storage.

Enjoy the spring weather,

 keep your distance,

 stay safe,

stay healthy

and reach out to others as many have difficulty dealing with isolation at this time.
