BOM info and updates…..

What a great meeting we had last night!!

It was such an honor to have Phyllis Van Horne come and speak at our meeting.

Her quilts and her stories are such an inspiration.

We also have a great new Block of the Month program this year.

Ann Oastler and Mary Waugh have designed a beautiful pattern with many variations.

It’s called

“Blocks and Variations BOM program”

They will provide us instructions for two variations of wonderful medallion quilts.

I have the first instructions available for you to download on the Block of the Month page.

They are in PDF format and should be easy for you to download and print.

Every month I will add the instructions to this page.

Here are their quilts in progress.

Ann’s Quilt – Option #1 is shown below.

Mary’s Quilt – Option #2 is shown below.

Aren’t they gorgeous!!

Hopefully many of you will start working on these quilts,

and bring your work in progress to the next meeting for a chance to win prizes.

We also have a Christmas Challenge for all of you.

Make a Christmas stocking using the pattern provided.

It is available to download from the Block of the Month page.

The challenge is to have it completed by the December 12th meeting.

You get to keep the stocking that you make,

but we will all vote for the best stocking made.

The winner will get a prize!!

We have so many wonderful challenges and workshops going on this year.

Last June, we had a workshop with the ladies from

Hare Brained Happenings.

The workshop was to make the Weekender Bag pattern.

Here are some of the completed bags made by our members.

We hope to see you at our next meeting on October 3rd.
