Limestone Quilters Guild Meeting for Wed. March 2, 2011

Library at 6:30pm, meeting starts 7:00pm

To help you pass the time we hope you will be able to join us on Wed. night when we will have mini workshop stations, 2 before break and 2 after.  We will cover new/alternative border ideas, demonstrations cutting out shapes for applique and a new technique applying binding.  Mini workshop nights are quite enjoyable, we always learn something new and we get to stretch our legs!

Charlene will be reminding us of our 20th Anniversary President Challenge quilt due date, June 1.  Instructions are on our web site and in the Newsletter.  Members who bring a completed quilt to the June dinner meeting will have their names entered into a draw; 3 excellent prizes: one year free membership, restaurant gift certificate and a mystery gift which will be found during the upcoming Lancaster bus trip!

Diane is also looking forward to seeing how many Block of the Month are handed in; the Feb. red and white block is due as last months meeting was cancelled; and reminder for anyone who received their postcards to also bring them along.

Anne and Brynhild will be encouraging members to sign out kits, these are relatively low stress projects and you can feel good knowing that it will go to someone in the community that is in need of a cozy quilt during difficult times.  The next Community Quilts workshop day is Tues. March 8.

Items for Show & Tell are welcome, don’t be shy!

Library will be up and running, start time 6:30.  So if you have any returns put them near the door and then browse through the library for some new inspirations or please email or call
Ann Oastler if you want keep your books for another month.

Also bring along a couple of toonies to try your luck with the 50/50, usually enough to put a smile on someones face and lug-a-mug to help keep waste to a minimum during refreshment time is always appreciated.
