Limestone Quilters Guild Meeting for Wed. Feb. 2, 2011

Library at 6:30pm, meeting starts 7:00pm

Hello all, hope this finds you well, enjoying the longer days and looking forward to Wed. night’s meeting when we will welcome guest speaker Madeliene Tarasick.  She is a retired principal from the area that now does volunteer work with ‘Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan’.  She will have a slide show/powerpoint presentation (similar to our guests from last year that showed us first hand the results of their charitable efforts in Chernobyl).  She will be bringing some item for sale from Afghan women and their families and we will be donating a quilt that the organization can raffle or auction.  You can go to their web site for more information about the organization.

Charlene will be encouraging us regarding our LQG’s 20th Anniversary Presidents Challenge projects!

Diane is also looking forward to seeing how many ‘Red and White’ theme blocks will be handed in for the draw and a reminder for anyone who received their postcards to also bring them along.

Items for Show & Tell are welcome, don’t be shy!

Library will be up and running, start time 6:30.  So if you have any returns put them near the door and then browse through the library for some new inspirations or please please email or call
Ann Oastler.

Also remember that the balance is due re the Lancaster Bus Trip (which is fast approaching!).

Also bring along a couple of toonies to try your luck with the 50/50, usually enough to put a smile on someones face and lug-a-mug to help keep waste to a minimum during refreshment time is always appreciated.
